Brompton Pre-Owned Superlight High-HB 6-Speed Flame Lacquer

This is one of a pair of matching "Superlights" purchased from our shop in March of 2023. The customers who made the purchase only had the chance to ride them for a very short time before returning them to our shop.

Both bikes can only be described "as-new" condition mechanically and with no wear. This bike has only one cosmetic issue: the texture from the interior lining of a bag used to store the bikes has transferred to an area of approximately 1"x6" on the top tube; it is not visible but is noticeable to the touch.

Some very nice upgrades are included: Serfas RX comfort saddle, MKS Lambda quick release pedals with Extenders, Ergon grips, Rear rack with LED taillight, Lezyne frame pump, handlebar crossbar, mirror, 12% lowered gearing, Schwalbe Marathon tires with spare tube, and front bag.

The H Type handlebar provides a markedly more upright riding position - it has the highest grip height of the three options at 1072mm or 42 1/4". The standard specs for this Brompton are:

Features
  • High handlebar, 6 Speed with reduced gearing (29 to 88 gear inches)
  • Rear rack and Mudguards
  • Titanium front fork and rear triangle
  • Standard seat post
  • Firm Suspension
  • Front luggage carrier block
  • Serfas RX Lycra Ladies saddle
  • Lambda quick release pedals with extenders
  • Schwalbe Marathon tires plus spare tube
  • Rear LED battery light
  • Ergon BioKork GP-1 grips
  • Mirrycle bicycle mirror
  • Lezyne frame pump
  • Brompton Borough Basket bag
  • Main frame - Flame Lacquer

Maintenance Tips
  • Frame care: Wipe the Flame Lacquer finish after each ride with a soft, damp cloth to maintain shine and prevent corrosion.

  • Drivetrain: Clean and lubricate the 6-speed chain every 100 km (60 mi) or after wet conditions for smooth shifting.

  • Folding joints: Inspect hinges weekly; lightly grease pivots and ensure bolts are tight to keep folding smooth.

  • Brakes: Check brake pads and clean rims monthly to ensure effective stopping.

  • Tire pressure: Inflate to the manufacturer’s recommended PSI before each ride for performance and puncture protection.

  • Cable check: Inspect gear and brake cables for fraying or stretch; replace if necessary.

  • Storage: Store indoors or under cover to protect the lacquer from UV and moisture damage.
