HEATSTAR 50,000 BTU Indirect Fired Utility Industrial Heater w/ NG To LP Conversion Kit - F160551

If you are looking to turn your garage or barn into a work space you can use all year-round, you will have to find a safe quiet and reliable heat source. This 50,000 BTU Natural Gas Unit heater is the way to go. It uses a built-in electric high velocity fan to pull cool air into the rear of the heater, across a heat exchanger, then forcing warm air into the surrounding areas. These heaters only require 115v AC power and can be vented vertically or horizontally - please check local codes and restrictions. With a mounting clearance of only 1 inch, the supplied brackets, external access to power, and thermostat connections - installation is a cinch. With the Durable Spark ignition and robust factory standard self-diagnostic control module, we can offer a 3 year factory warranty on all parts and burners and a 10 year warranty on any defects in the heat exchanger. This heater offers the operating versatility and safety that you have come to expect from HeatStar.Designed for use in spaces adjacent to a residence. These heaters use a finer mesh fan guard and utility grade safety switches to meet the CSA Utility Heater standard.

Maintenance Tips
  • Keep Air Inlets/Outlets Clean – Periodically brush or vacuum debris from the rear air intake and front exhaust to maintain airflow and heat efficiency; blocked vents reduce performance and can lead to wear.

  • Inspect Flame Ignition System – Check the spark ignition area and burners for soot or buildup; gently clean with a soft brush when the unit is off and cool to ensure reliable starts.

  • Check Venting Clearances – Ensure vent pipes and exhaust paths remain free of obstructions and maintain recommended clearances (horizontal/vertical) to prevent heat buildup and ensure safe combustion.

  • Monitor Gas Connections – Inspect gas lines and fittings for leaks or corrosion periodically; tighten connections and use leak‑detecting fluid as needed for safety.

  • Test Self‑Diagnostic Controls – Run heater controls occasionally to confirm the self‑diagnostic spark ignition module and fan operate correctly; irregular flame or noise may signal required service.

  • Protect from Moisture & Dust – When not in seasonal use, cover or store the unit in a dry space and keep the fan guard free from excessive dust to help prevent rust and internal corrosion.
