The EGC50 is a 49-1/2" wide, insulated solid slide lid glass and plate chiller from Everest Refrigeration. This unit is equipped with a stainless steel countertop and 2 lids as well as a textured and laminated black vinyl exterior. This unit also includes 5 steel wire shelves that are slid horizontally into the unit for easy storage of glasses and plates. There is shielded LED interior lighting and a galvanized steel interior on this glass and plate chiller. The EGC50 can hold up to (230) 8" mugs in 15 cubic feet of space.
The side mounted refrigeration system on this glass and plate chiller uses environmentally friendly R290 refrigerant. This unit has a cabinet with 1-3/4" thick high density foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation. A forced-air cooling system in this glass and plate chiller with an oversized condenser and ECM fans provide balanced airflow throughout the cabinet for a faster chilling.
The EGC50 operates on 115 Volts, 60 Hz, 1-phase at 5 Amps for 1/2 HP and comes pre-wired and ready with a NEMA 5-15P plug. This unit has a temperature setting range from -10F to 54F that is controlled using a digital controller with LED display.

Q: What are its key features?
A: Durable stainless steel construction, high-efficiency cooling plates, compact design, and easy-to-clean surfaces for safe and reliable operation.
Q: Who is this plate chiller ideal for?
A: Perfect for breweries, beverage producers, and commercial kitchens needing rapid, consistent liquid chilling.
Q: How does it improve cooling efficiency?
A: The plate design maximizes surface area contact, allowing liquids to chill quickly while maintaining quality and safety.
Q: Is it easy to maintain and clean?
A: Yes — built for simple cleaning and routine maintenance, ensuring long-lasting, hygienic performance.
Clean Regularly: Rinse and wipe down exterior surfaces and the plate-chiller interior after each use to remove residue, oils, or food particles.
Flush Plates: Periodically flush the internal plates with clean water (or manufacturer‑recommended cleaning solution) to prevent buildup, scale, or blockages that reduce chiller efficiency.
Inspect Seals & Gaskets: Check all seals, gaskets, and connections for signs of wear or leaks; replace them promptly to maintain water-tight performance.
Check Hoses & Connections: Ensure inlet/outlet hoses remain secure, free of cracks, kinks, or leaks — replace if damaged.
Maintain Proper Water Flow & Drainage: Avoid clogging the drain; ensure water flows freely through the chiller and drainage lines are clear after use.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners approved for food equipment; avoid bleach or acidic cleaners that can corrode metal surfaces.
Dry Thoroughly After Cleaning: After rinsing, let the chiller dry completely before storing to prevent rust or mold.
Scheduled Inspection: Periodically have a qualified technician check the internal plates and valves for wear, leaks, or scaling — especially if used intensively.
