SCM  (3PH) 26" Heavy Duty Planer (20hp) - Spiral Cutterhead - CM626

The Cantek CM626 26″ Planer is a production planer with high horsepower and feed rates. It is equipped with a spiral insert knife cutterhead with two-sided replaceable knives which produce a smooth planed finish with maximum cutting depth. The spiral pattern reduces the load on the motor and bearings, is extremely quiet, has superior stock removal, and produces a superior finish. With upper and lower driven feed rollers, the CM626 can plane even the most difficult-to-feed material.

The powerful 20HP motor can ensure optimum stock removal even on full-width boards. With infinitely variable feeds the operator has full control to ensure the optimum feed speed according to your needs. Equipped with the motorized movement of the table by convenient digital control the operator can accurately input the desired thickness to achieve accurate results.

Maintenance Tips
  • Clean the spiral cutterhead, feed rollers, chip breakers, pressure bars, and worktable after each use to remove chips and dust.
  • Inspect carbide inserts on the spiral cutterhead regularly for wear, chipping, or damage and rotate or replace them as needed.
  • Keep the dust extraction system operating efficiently to prevent chip buildup and maintain cutting performance.
  • Check feed rollers for wear, proper pressure, and smooth operation to ensure consistent material feeding.
  • Lubricate bearings, chains, gears, guide columns, and moving assemblies according to the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.
  • Verify cutterhead alignment and table parallelism regularly to maintain accurate thicknessing and surface quality.
  • Inspect drive belts, motors, and transmission components for wear, proper tension, and reliable operation.
  • Remove resin, pitch, and wood residue from rollers and machine surfaces using approved cleaning products.
  • Test emergency stop switches, safety guards, and protective systems routinely to ensure safe operation.
  • Operate and store the machine in a clean, dry environment and protect exposed metal surfaces from rust and corrosion.
