The JDT65 produces both the pin and tail of the dovetail simultaneously. All four sides of the drawer can be loaded into the machine for optimum production capacity. The operator controls the dovetail unit by following a simple template allowing for ease of operation and quality joints.
The 4-sided template on the JDT65 allows you to create "half-blind" dovetails, where the dovetails are visible on only one side of the joint. It will create dovetails in one of four different "pitches" (1", 1-1/2", 2", and 2-1/2") or centerlines. The floating dovetailing unit is equipped with ball bearings that run on chrome steel guide rails for smooth, effortless operation.
Four pneumatic clamps with individual lever activation ensure the workpiece is held firmly during machining and speeds up material changeover. The 18,500 RPM precision spindle delivers a clean cut, and an eccentric single flute cutter in the chuck is easily adjustable to loosen or tighten the joint.
