This versatile cutting solution has a Makita built variable 2-speed brushless motor to deliver 0 to 2300 SPM (low) and 0 to 3000 SPM (high) for rapid cutting operation. This powerful brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge. Tool with 1-1/4 Inch stroke length, features refined crank mechanism design to minimize blade deflection and vibration. Tool is jam packed with features like large two-finger variable speed trigger for added convenience and reinforced fixed shoe for longer endurance. It has electric brake for increasing productivity. Reciprocating saw has Makita's Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), a protective seal inside the tool. This technology increases tool life for operation in harsh conditions. The Star Protection Computer Controls™ technology allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions while in use to safeguard against over-loading, over-discharging and over-heating. Rapid charger has a built-in fan to cool the battery quickly.
