Drive Medical Med-Aire Assure 5" Air + 3" Foam Alternating Pressure Low Air Loss - DM-14530

Designed to prevent, treat and manage pressure ulcers in the home or long term care setting, the Med-Aire Assure combination therapy mattress system provides both alternating pressure and low air loss to optimize pressure redistribution and manage skin maceration. The Med-Aire Assure incorporates a system of eighteen 5" individual bladders over a 3" foam base. The pump offers a static feature as well as adjustable comfort settings by patient weight. The removable cover is quilted for comfort, low shear, anti-microbial, water-resistant and vapor permeable. Plus, a CPR valve allows for rapid deflation.

FeaturesĀ
  • Active mattress replacement system provides both alternating pressure and low air loss to optimize pressure redistribution, shear/friction reduction, and microclimate control
  • Pump offers adjustable comfort settings and static feature
  • Removable quilted cover is low-shear, anti-microbial, water-resistant and vapor permeable
  • Designed to prevent, treat and heal pressure ulcers in the home or long term care setting
  • Control unit offers 10 minute cycles when alternating and can also be used in static mode
  • Adjustable patient weight settings allow for optimal immersion and patient comfort & compliance
  • Audio and Visual alarm alerts when air pressure is low
  • System includes 17 individual air cells over a 3" foam base for power outage protection
  • Pillow feature provides head stability & comfort
  • 5" deep air cells are easily removed for convenient servicing
  • Removable quilted Nylon cover is fluid resistant, low shear and vapor permeable helping protect the skin from friction and moisture
  • CPR valve allows for rapid deflation
  • Tubing quickly and easily disconnects with EZ Lock/Quick Release design
What our Experts Think
  • Advanced hybrid support system (5" air cells + 3" foam base) delivers both active pressure relief and stable foundational support for high-risk patients.
  • Combines alternating pressure + low air loss therapy to help reduce pressure injuries, improve circulation, and manage skin microclimate.
  • Built-in foam base ensures backup support during power outages, improving patient safety and continuous protection.
  • 10-minute alternating pressure cycle helps continuously redistribute pressure across vulnerable body areas.
  • Integrated low air loss airflow system helps reduce moisture buildup and maintain cooler, drier skin conditions.
  • Includes audible and visual low-pressure alarms to alert caregivers to system issues quickly.
  • CPR quick-release function allows rapid deflation for emergency response and patient safety.
  • Fluid-resistant, vapor-permeable cover helps reduce friction, shear, and skin irritation.
  • Designed for homecare, long-term care, and hospital use for patients at moderate to high risk of pressure ulcers.
  • Supports users up to approximately 350 lb weight capacity, making it suitable for a broad patient range.

Q&A Ā

Q: What is the ZooMe Auto-Flex scooter?
A: A compact 4-wheel travel scooter with automatic folding and unfolding using a wireless remote for maximum convenience.

Q: How does the auto-folding system work?
A: It folds or unfolds in about 15 seconds using a key fob remote—no manual disassembly or lifting required.

Q: Is it good for travel?
A: Yes. It features a compact fold, lightweight frame, and airline-safe lithium battery, making it ideal for travel.

Q: What is the weight capacity?
A: It supports up to 300 lbs.

Q: What is the driving range?
A: Up to 13 miles per charge, depending on terrain, load, and battery condition.

Q: What is the top speed?
A: Up to 4 mph, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Q: Does it break down for transport?
A: No. It does not disassemble—its main benefit is full automatic folding into a compact unit.

Maintenance Tips
  • Inspect air pump, tubing, and electrical cord regularly for cracks, leaks, or loose connections.
  • Ensure air hoses are securely attached and free from kinks or blockages to maintain consistent airflow.
  • Test alternating pressure cycles and low air loss settings periodically for proper function.
  • Keep pump air filters and vents clean and dust-free to prevent overheating and airflow restriction.
  • Check mattress cells and foam base for punctures, deflation, or uneven support and repair or replace if needed.
  • Clean mattress cover with approved disinfectants and allow it to dry completely before reuse.
  • Verify CPR quick-release function operates correctly for emergency deflation.
  • Avoid folding or tightly compressing the mattress during storage to prevent damage to air cells and foam layers.
  • Respond promptly to low-pressure alarms to maintain therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure consistent pressure redistribution, hygiene, and patient safety.Ā  Ā
