PCE 0 - 30,000G Tabletop AC DC EMF Detector & Magnetometer Gauss Magnetic Field Meter - MFM 4000

The PCE 0 - 30,000G Tabletop AC DC EMF Detector & Magnetometer Gauss Magnetic Field Meter is often used in the laboratory and in quality assurance to measure the strength of magnetic fields. It includes two different sensors; one for general measurements in the Gauss and milli-Tesla range, as well as a precision sensor for measurements in the milli Gauss and micro-Tesla range. The magnetometer sensors have automatic temperature compensation. The device can be used for measurements of DC and AC magnetic fields. The magnetometer shows the polarity of the DC magnetic field on the display next to the measured value. This precise magnetometer can be connected to a PC via serial interface for measurement value analysis.

The magnetometer features a data logging function that allows it to save measured values to an SD memory card at preset intervals during measurements. In addition to interval storage, up to 99 individual measurements can be saved with the push of a button. The measurement data is stored in Excel format on the SD card, eliminating the need for additional software to use with the magnetometer.

The magnetometer is supplied as a table device and is particularly suitable for stationary measurements in QA, the test laboratory or also in research and. The bright display of the magnetometer is easy to read at all times and shows all the necessary information about the magnetic field strength. The magnetometer also has an automatic switch-off. The magnetometer is supplied with 6 x 1.5V AA batteries or with a 9V plug-in power supply.

Maintenance Tips
  • Keep the probe and sensor area clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture for accurate magnetic field measurements.
  • Store the instrument in a clean, dry environment away from excessive heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
  • Handle the probe carefully and avoid bending, dropping, or exposing it to mechanical stress.
  • Inspect cables and connections regularly to ensure stable and reliable operation.
  • Verify calibration periodically using appropriate reference standards or calibration services.
  • Avoid exposing the meter to magnetic fields beyond its specified range to protect the sensing components.
  • Clean the housing with a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure proper power supply stability to maintain consistent measurement performance.
  • Cover the instrument when not in use to minimize dust accumulation.
