What our Experts Think
-
Balanced diaphragm design – Provides consistent airflow regardless of depth or tank pressure for smooth, predictable breathing performance.
-
Compact & travel-friendly – Lightweight chrome-plated brass body makes it easy to pack while staying rugged enough for frequent diving.
-
Cold-water capable – Thermal-enhanced design helps improve performance in cooler conditions and reduces risk of freezing compared to basic unsealed designs.
-
Flexible hose routing – 4 LP ports + 2 HP ports allow clean, practical setup for recreational configurations or travel kits.
-
Simple, reliable mechanics – Fewer complex moving parts make it easier and more cost-effective to maintain over time.
-
Versatile use case – Works well for warm, temperate, and moderate cold-water diving, making it a strong all-rounder first stage.
Q&A
Maintenance Tips
- Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after every dive, keeping the DIN dust cap tightly in place to prevent water entering the MK11 EVO first stage.
- Lightly operate purge and adjustment controls on connected second stages during rinsing to remove salt and sand from moving parts and prevent sticking.
- Do not allow water into the DIN inlet; always rinse only with proper sealing/protection in place to protect internal components.
- Air dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area before storage to prevent corrosion and moisture buildup.
- Store hoses loosely coiled in a cool, dry place away from heat, UV exposure, and ozone sources.
- Inspect DIN O-rings, filter area, hoses, mouthpiece, and fittings regularly for wear, salt buildup, or cracks before each dive.
- Avoid sand, oils, solvents, chlorine, and harsh chemicals that can damage seals and valve performance.
- Have the MK11 EVO professionally serviced at least annually or per manufacturer schedule (or ~100 dives in heavy use) to maintain safe breathing performance.
