Stanley Underwater Hydraulic Sinker Drill - SK58310

Stanley’s SK58310 Sinker Drill is a heavy duty rock drill designed for drilling underwater in concrete, rock and masonry. The feathering on/off valve makes starting the bit relatively easy. The SK58 uses industry standard drill steel and can drill up to a 3” diameter hole up to 20 feet deep. Air is required to clear holes of debris.

What our Experts Think
  • Purpose-Built for Underwater Drilling: Engineered specifically for commercial diving, offshore construction, and marine infrastructure projects requiring reliable underwater rock and concrete drilling.
  • Powerful Hydraulic Performance: Delivers consistent drilling power for anchor holes, demolition work, and heavy-duty underwater applications in demanding environments.
  • Precision Diver Control: Ergonomic handles and responsive trigger controls provide excellent stability and accuracy, even when operated with diving gloves.
  • Rugged Corrosion-Resistant Design: Built with marine-grade, corrosion-resistant components to withstand prolonged exposure to saltwater and harsh underwater conditions.
  • Trusted Professional Tool: Combines Stanley's proven hydraulic technology with durable construction, making it a dependable choice for commercial, civil engineering, and offshore diving operations.
Q&A

Q: What is the Stanley SK58310 Underwater Hydraulic Sinker Drill used for?
A: It is a heavy-duty hydraulic rock drill designed for underwater drilling in concrete, rock, and masonry, making it ideal for commercial diving, blast hole drilling, and dowel installation.

Q: What is its drilling capacity?
A: The SK58310 can drill holes up to 3 inches (75 mm) in diameter and 20 feet (6 m) deep using standard drill steel.

Q: What hydraulic flow and pressure does it require?
A: It operates on 7–9 GPM (26–34 LPM) hydraulic flow at 1,500–2,000 PSI (105–140 bar), with an optimum flow of 8 GPM.

Q: Does it require an air supply?
A: Yes. An air flush system is required to clear drilling debris and maintain efficient drilling performance.

Q: Can the rotation speed be adjusted?
A: Yes. The direct-drive rotation motor provides adjustable speeds from 0 to 300 RPM for greater drilling control.

Q: Are couplers included with the drill?
A: No. The drill includes hose whips, but quick-disconnect couplers are sold separately.

Maintenance Tips
  • Rinse with fresh water after every underwater use.
  • Remove salt, sand, and debris from all surfaces.
  • Inspect hydraulic hoses, fittings, and seals before use.
  • Check the drill steel and moving parts for wear or damage.
  • Use clean hydraulic fluid at the recommended pressure.
  • Keep the air flushing system clean and unobstructed.
  • Tighten loose fasteners and replace worn components promptly.
  • Store the drill clean, dry, and protected when not in use.
